Jouvet Coma Scale

Level of Consciousness Assessment

The Jouvet Coma Scale is a tool used to assess a patient's level of consciousness, especially in cases of coma induced by neurological diseases or persistent vegetative states. It focuses on evaluating the patient's perceptivity and reactivity, both to cortical and brainstem stimuli. Unlike the Glasgow Scale, the Jouvet Scale is more commonly used to assess patients in deeper states of altered consciousness, such as coma.
